The University of Findlay has been in close contact with Governor DeWine’s Office regarding the Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) in order to ensure that we have the most current information about the evolving situation. Even though there are no campus-associated cases of COVID-19, we will be proactive in our effort to prevent illness and promote a healthful campus environment. Since the University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum is located on the University of Findlay campus, the same proactive measures the University is following also applies to the Museum.

Based on Governor DeWine’s current recommendations that all universities transition to remote online classes and limit large group gatherings, the University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum is taking the following measures:

Museum Operation

  • The Mazza Museum and the Mazza Museum Gift Shop will remain open for walk-in visitors during normal hours, which are: Wednesday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 – 4 p.m.
  • Effective Monday, March 16, Mazza Museum large group tours to the Museum will be canceled. This will continue at least until Tuesday, April 14.

Events

  • Effective Monday, March 16 and continuing until at least April 14 we are canceling all events, either University-sponsored or on University property. This includes Museum events.
  • The following Mazza events within this time frame are canceled:
    • Mazza school tours scheduled between March 16 – April 14
    • Llama Llama Art Activities and book sales at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts on March 21
    • Tales for Tots on March 25
    • Funday Sunday at the Toledo Zoo on April 5
    • Tales for Tots on April 8

We will continue to evaluate events and will share plans prior to April 14 to either ease the restrictions early or, if needed, extend them.

The University’s emergency response team continues to evaluate risk and develop contingency plans, working directly with the Hancock County Public Health Department and following the guidelines of the CDC and local, state, and federal authorities.
